"Understanding of Vision and Language Systems"

In today's era of artificial intelligence, we are surrounded by agents who accompany us in carrying our daily tasks. The tasks can range from asking about the weather (from Alexa, Siri) to a question about the scene in front of our eyes. However, there are some problems like biases in training data, understanding of linguistic variations that raise trustability issues and lowers chances of their deployment into real-world settings. In my 1st year of Ph.D. I worked to understand dataset biases for Visual Question Answering systems and making them robust towards linguistic variations. Please join my presentation where I will talk about my latest findings and will look forward to the feedback.
